Warehouse

Warehouse Clothes Profile

Warehouse Clothes, a concept by Jeff Banks, Maurice and Michael Bennett, is a high style clothing line that opened it's first store in London in 1976, and launched the first bymail catalog in the early 1980's with models Christy Turlington, Naomi Campbell Stephanie Seymour and Andie McDowell on its pages. Other brands owned by Warehouse are Ware-Denim, Spotlight by Warehouse, Loungeware, and Beachware.

Warehouse Clothes' Designs

While the brand's vision has evolved over the past three decades to continue to be fresh, it can still be described as confident, sexy, clean, edgy, glamorous. Warehouse is for the confident consumer, who is not afraid to be an individual. Because Warehouse employs an in-house design team, unique pieces consistent with emerging trends can be found on their racks. Following seasonal trends as well, average sizes range from 6-16.

The Bottom Line

Warehouse Clothes is design for the high street, but highly accessible to all people.

How to Wear it: Leopard Print Jeans

525 Current/Elliott Jean526 Warehouse Jean

I am currently a bit, well a lot, obsessed with leopard print jeans. No one is more surprised than me, when did leopard print jeans become cool rather than trashy? Well trashy cool at least. The trend seems to be down to denim brand Current/Elliott and the rise of last year’s ‘cocktail jean’. The cocktail jean is a fancy take on the standard skinny, in fact ‘cocktail’ is the new prefix in fashion to describe anything a bit fancier than average – the cocktail earring for example.

Animal print jeans crept into style last year, as seen on the likes of Sarah Jessica Parker and Isla Fisher. I liked them back them, but I wouldn’t have gone out wearing them. Now however, I want to wear them! Last summer the leopard print jeans by Current/Elliott sold out at my-wardrobe.com in 24 hours despite the £210 price tag and this year they have restocked on the trend.

LA based Current/Elliott was founded in 2008 by Serge Azria with the aim of producing a collection entirely crafted from denim. The brand is born out of a love of vintage denim and American roots and has quickly garnered a cult following in the fashion world. This season at net-a-porter you can get the low rise leopard print skinny jean in four colour ways – petal pink, mint, camel or grey. The print is quite subdued and therefore easy to wear. Petal pink and mint are fully on trend for this spring’s icy pastel colour palette but I’m quite a big fan of the grey.

Winter Blooms: Florals aren’t just for Summer, Bring Some Flower Power into Winter Dressing

478 Jil Saunder

As the headline says, florals aren’t just for summer. This winter flower power has fought through the cold weather and is here to stay. The way to wear it is bold, think tropical prints and sixties carpets rather than ditzy patterns. The inspiration comes from Erdem’s painterly prints, Jonathan Saunders’ tropics and Jil Sander’s winter blooms.

Erdem’s prints for A/W ’11 were more abstracted than previous seasons. His Monet style prints are perfect for the grown up woman, be inspired by the rich use of colour and all over texture. At Jonathan Saunders, startling turquoise tropical bird prints were featured on warm orange dresses, whilst green and blue were juxtaposed against black. Jil Sander’s winter blooms include a romantic textured rose print and bold florals against a navy background on cocoon shapes and even a jumpsuit.

Red Alert! For a Trend to Take You from Summer to Winter Wear Red

198 Topshop Red Duffle Coat

Red is one of those colours that you either love or hate. It is a bold colour, and it takes a bold person to wear it.  A trend for red jeans has been running over the summer with Rachel Stevens, Miley Cyrus, Rachel Bilson, Katie Holmes and Rihanna all seen working the crimson leg look.  White tees were the favourite pairing for daytime looks and glitzy tops and leather jackets for evenings out.  Red jeans are a sure fire way to attract attention to your pins, so only jump on this trend if you love your legs.

Red doesn’t have to be just for jeans though, it is a great colour to take you through to autumn/winter.  Red is a powerful colour, so you can wear it when you want to feel more confident or want a boost to your self esteem. Next season, fashion has prised itself away from the safety of black and red is a great pick-me-up colour to brighten up dull days.

Red found its way onto the catwalk for Alberta Ferretti, Gucci and Jil Sander.  Colour blocking is all the rage for A/W ’11, so you might want to pick up this red wool duffle coat from Topshop.  It has a very handy detachable hood for rainy days, and comes in at under £100.   This silk blouse from Warehouse is a real eye catcher, but with its orangey red tone it is more subtle than bright red.  It can be worn with jeans for day or smartened up for a modern work look and is priced at £50.
