Fancy Training as a Stylist? My Style Companion Launches Style Advisor and Training Academy

335 StylingHow do you fancy training as a fashion stylist? Helping people to love their appearance is a truly satisfying and wonderful position to be in. Some people might think appearances are shallow, but having self esteem and love for yourself is a far cry from shallow. I really believe that being confident in your appearance can have an impact on all areas of your life.

This is something 30 year-old Nicola Cupples knows well. She has a passion for fashion that has taken her from her native Liverpool to a career that most women can only dream of. She set up her own style advisory business My Style Companion in 2007 and now spends her working days helping people to find as much joy, confidence and pleasure in clothes and looking good as she does.

Now, she is launching the national Style Advisor and Training Academy programme that will train women to become a new breed of style consultants and personal shoppers. It will also involve creating a new network of fashion advisors to share ideas and expertise. The question is, can you really teach style? Nicola says: ‘I set up the Academy in response to the number of women I met who wanted to learn to do what I do and train as fashion advisors.  It’s an incredibly rewarding career and we give our students everything they need – from the all important training to business support and an ongoing network of practical and emotional support.”

There is no denying that some people have innate style, others can learn it; either way the academy training can build on your current level of confidence. Moving away from traditional and now old-fashioned colour or personality consultations, the Style Companion Academy training courses deliver a unique blend of image consultancy and personal styling on how the right clothes can dramatically turn around a client’s life, body and confidence levels.  And because we’ve all witnessed the unsightly effect of ill-fitting underwear, the courses start with finding the right bra, moving on to understanding body shapes and detoxing a wardrobe.

The My Style Companion training system has also been designed to work as flexibly as possible for women and is focussed around the Diploma in Personal Styling and Shopping; an eight day course which consists of four separate modules - Foundation in Personal Styling; Wardrobe Management, Personal Shopping and Unleash Your Business Potential. The four separate modules can be taken in succession or as individual courses. It’s not cheap, but could it be the start of a whole new career?
